This early 19^th century stone house, with double porches under the main roof span, was given to the county by the developer of the farm surrounding it. With the building set well back behind the Pilot Truck Stop and close to a small stream, the county envisions a passive linear park along the stream with this house as an anchor. The county paid for structural evaluations of the property and has received a grant for some structural repair, but water has undermined a corner of the foundation, and vandals have caused further damage. The Board of County Commissioners has decided to sell this property with easements. All of the work has been completed except for having the easements approved by MHT.
